From May 10 to June 8 , 2025, Busto Arsizio will be transformed into a stage for creativity and sustainability, hosting the second edition of “M(A)Y FIBER – Paths of art and textiles between tradition and sustainability”.

The initiative, promoted by the Municipal Administration in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Identity led by Manuela Maffioli, aims to celebrate contemporary textile art, highlighting the connection between tradition and innovation. The exhibition, which is part of the Emblematico Maggiore “Varese Cultura 2030” project, is sponsored by the Lombardy Region and the Province of Varese, with the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation.

The event is a widespread event that involves the center of Busto Arsizio, the beating heart of the Varese area and the Alto Milanese, through exhibitions of textile artists from all over the world, meetings and workshops. The protagonist will be fiber art, an art form that explores textiles not only as a material but also as an expressive language that unites past and future, tradition and experimentation. The Municipality, with the support of various institutions, associations and cultural entities, has organized a month of events that promises to involve a heterogeneous public, including enthusiasts of the sector and those seeking new cultural experiences.

Something About Mothers and Daughters

Spazio Natta, Como

By: Maria Chiara Fornari It is an ancient challenge for artists to confront spirituality in their work. Always, by the very nature of making art, driven by nature and the languages of art, to represent what is inside oneself, to follow an intimate, sometimes intimist path, to represent what is beyond the world, in a tension pursued towards another world that is beyond reality. Invited to reflect on prayer, the artists exhibiting at Miniartextil 33 in Como these days perform a miracle, transforming the immaterial into the material. In works that are surprisingly and magically very material, they transform the immanent into the transcendent, the unspeakable into the representable, the invisible into the visible. They become interpreters of their inner tension towards a personal religious reflection, making it visible to the eyes of us visitors, who are often ecstatic and astonished... Deep and very strong reflections are those communicated by the works of Miniartextil 33, the most prestigious international exhibition dedicated to contemporary fiber art that has returned to propose works of textile art in Como exhibition spaces. From 7 December to 9 February 2025, the Ex Chiesa di San Pietro in Atrio, the Spazio Natta and the Basilica of San Fedele present works by artists invited to reflect on the theme of art as prayer. On the artistic gesture as a moment of connection with an internal dialogue. An exhibition that invites us to stop our clocks to sink into another world and time. And the theme of time ties in well.
